Job Description
Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Empower students and make a difference in an onsite, self-contained classroom setting working with elementary learners with diverse behavioral needs. Three contract opportunities are available for experienced Special Education Teachers, specializing in self-contained behavior programs, dedicated to fostering a supportive and structured environment for 3rd, 4th, or 6th graders. The position is located near Glendale, AZ and is full-time throughout the school year (8/3/26 - 5/26/27; dates subject to change).
Key Qualifications:
Certified educator with valid teaching credentials in Special Education Current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card Documented experience leading self-contained behavior classrooms, ideally with students exhibiting Other Health Impairment (including ADHD and ODD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, and/or Emotional Disabilities Strong understanding of behavioral interventions and academic differentiation for students who are cognitively capable but performing below grade level Ability to cultivate a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment Skilled in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families Exceptional communication, classroom management, and organizational skillsCore Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction to a class of 10-15 elementary students in a self-contained behavioral setting Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs Apply evidence-based behavioral strategies and support positive student development Monitor, assess, and report on academic and behavioral progress Partner with school staff and related service providers to ensure holistic support Participate in professional development, IEP meetings, and team collaboration as required Experience the rewards of helping students achieve academic and personal growth in a nurturing environment.
