Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract role supporting the growth and development of young learners as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. You'll play a pivotal part in creating an inclusive and nurturing environment for preschool-aged children with diverse needs in a highly collaborative school community near Scottsdale, AZ. This opportunity involves leading both morning and afternoon sessions, each accommodating 10-12 students, with a manageable total caseload of about 24 students. With the assistance of two dedicated instructional aides during student sessions, you'll focus on tailoring engaging lessons, delivering instructional services, and meeting each child's unique developmental goals.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
State certification to teach Special Education (Early Childhood/Cross-Categorical Pre-K preferred) Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills Enthusiasm for inclusive education and collaborative teamwork with support staff
Role Responsibilities:
Design and deliver effective instruction for Pre-K students with diverse learning needs Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams Provide case management and maintain accurate, timely records Foster a supportive, positive classroom atmosphere Collaborate with instructional assistants to optimize student engagement and learning Adapt teaching strategies to maximize student progress : Students attend onsite four days a week, allowing focused instructional time Staff maintain a five-day workweek for preparation, collaboration, and ongoing professional development On-site support and resources to help you succeed This is a fantastic chance to impact young lives while growing your professional skills in a welcoming and supportive setting.
