Job Description

Bring your expertise to a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with special needs in a dynamic educational setting. This full-time Special Education Teacher position offers 40 hours per week, with responsibilities centered on fostering individual student growth within an inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver district-approved curriculum using designated resources tailored to student needs. Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for each student, ensuring personalized support and compliance with educational standards. Design engaging lesson plans and instructional materials, facilitating individualized and small group instruction. Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate and accessible learning experiences for all students. Establish and maintain clear behavioral standards, promoting a positive and effective learning environment. Evaluate and document student progress, keeping thorough academic records and maintaining an up-to-date grade book. Identify unique student needs, providing referrals and executing strategies outlined in IEPs. Maintain complete and accurate student records, meeting all district and state mandates. Collaboratively plan and coordinate activities involving teacher aides, parents, and volunteers in both classroom and field trip settings. Foster a nurturing atmosphere by creating functional and vibrant displays and showcasing student work throughout the classroom.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Arizona Special Education Teacher Certification. Solid understanding of special education laws, best practices, and instructional strategies. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and record-keeping. Effective communication and collaboration abilities with students, colleagues, and families.
