Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Exciting opportunity for an experienced special education professional passionate about supporting students with moderate to severe needs! We're seeking a dedicated educator to fill a full-time, contract role working with a diverse student population. Your commitment and expertise will make a meaningful impact on learners as you provide essential instruction and case management.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid state certification in Special Education Prior experience teaching students with moderate to severe disabilities Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and specialized instructional strategies Ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, families, and support staff Outstanding communication, organization, and documentation skills Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
Core Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized lesson plans tailored to each student's strengths and needs Provide direct instruction and support for students with moderate to severe disabilities Serve as case manager: coordinate and lead IEP meetings, track progress, and maintain thorough documentation Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and families to ensure cohesive support Create an inclusive and safe classroom environment that fosters student growth and independence Encourage and facilitate positive social, emotional, and academic outcomes for all students This is a newly available, full-time contract assignment providing valuable experience in a supportive school environment.
