Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference supporting students with visual impairments in a dynamic educational setting. This contract opportunity near Anaheim offers the chance to impact young learners' lives and grow professionally as part of a multidisciplinary team. The focus is on providing specialized instruction and resources to empower students with visual impairments to thrive academically and beyond. Preferred candidates will bring expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI), Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist, or Braille Transcriber. Candidates with dual certification in VI teaching and O&M are especially encouraged to apply and will have the opportunity to serve in a versatile capacity, addressing a broad spectrum of student needs.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid teaching credential for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (VI) required Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist certification highly desirable Experience with individualized educational planning and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams Proficiency in braille instruction and assistive technology for visually impaired students Braille transcription expertise welcomed for those interested in that aspect of the role Passion for supporting access, independence, and inclusion for students with visual impairments
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction according to each student's IEP Assess student needs and collaborate with other educators, therapists, and families Provide guidance and support in orientation and mobility, as applicable Contribute to creating accessible instructional materials, including braille and tactile resources Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and services This contract position offers a supportive work environment and the chance to contribute your unique skills while collaborating with a dedicated educational team.
