FIELD/EPIC ECE
Child Care Centers at all times. The successful candidate will supervise Instructional aides, volunteers, and substitutes on jobsite. This is a hands-on role and will require performing tasks associated with instruction and supervision of ECE children. The Child Care Center Teacher will be responsible for providing a meaningful, nurturing, and safe environment to all children under their care at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Include, but are not limited to, the following. Other related duties and responsibilities may be assigned. Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, following the provided curriculum for eighteen months (18) to five (5) year old children. Ensure lesson planning, curriculum development, program implementation and parent communication is age-appropriate and conducive to a meaningful learning environment. Provide approval and authorization of final daily progress notes, maintenance of files and reports when instructed to do so. Ensure the maintenance of a high-quality preschool environment, including equipment and facilities. Participate in long range planning and implementation of program goals. May be required to perform duties at different preschool sites from time to time. Guide and supervise Instructional Aide to establish and maintain a high-quality preschool learning environment. Participate in professional development and complete any necessary units to comply with licensing requirements and renewal terms of his/her Child Development Teacher Permit. Participate in and lead preschool trainings and committee activities. Provide guidance to Instructional Aide and any volunteers working in the classroom. Adhere to Head Start Performance Standards, State Preschool funding terms and conditions and Title 22 licensing requirements (as applicable). Continually maintain written and verbal parent communication. Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervision of Instructional Aides working at the center, parent volunteers, and other students who may be placed under your supervision towards completion of practicum hours.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to pass fingerprinting (Live Scan) and criminal record clearance by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Must have tuberculosis (TB) clearance or obtain TB clearance before beginning work. Must have a Health Screening Report clearance before beginning work. Must have Immunization records. Pertussis Measles EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma, or equivalent, required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree (AA/AS or BA/BS), preferred. Minimum twelve (12) ECE units from an accredited college Infant and Toddler Units required. Must have basic knowledge of Title 22 requirements. Be actively enrolled in a CTC approved college or university to complete units conducive to acquiring a Child Development Teacher Permit, unless already obtained. Previous experience working in an ECE class setting, preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a current four (4) hour Pediatric CPR and four (4) hour First Aid certificate, or be able to complete the training within fourteen (14) days of hire date. Must obtain an eight (8) Hour Health and Safety Training certificate within fourteen (14) days of hire date or have proof of completed B49 class from an accredited college. Must have a current Food Handler's Certificate, or be able to complete the training within thirty (30) days of hire date. Must have a current Child Care Providers Mandated Reporter certificate, or be able to complete the training within ninety (90) days of hire date. Must have valid driver's license and personal automobile insurance. Child Development Teacher permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) or equivalent, preferred. Actively seeking to acquire a Child Development Teacher Permit.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to travel as needed/required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, reports, etc. Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
