Special Education Teacher - Berkeley, CA Go Spindle - 1.7 Berkeley, CA Job Details Full-time | Contract 1 hour ago Qualifications Academic IEP goal implementation Special education for elementary school students Special Education Certification Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a vibrant school environment near the Berkeley, CA area, providing tailored instruction and support to help every student thrive. You'll manage a dedicated caseload of 11 elementary-aged learners, utilizing your specialized skills to foster an inclusive and positive classroom experience. This position requires working full-time hours—35.85 per week—on a schedule that allows you to see your students grow through the academic year.
Qualifications and Experience:
Active California Moderate/Severe Education Specialist Credential (required) Experience teaching or supporting elementary students with diverse needs Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations Compassionate, adaptive, and collaborative teaching style Commitment to creating safe, engaging, and inclusive learning spaces
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and implement individualized curriculum aligned with IEP goals Adapt materials and instructional strategies to serve varied learning profiles Collect and maintain accurate data on student progress and needs Work collaboratively with families, general education teachers, and support staff Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team discussions Establish positive relationships to encourage student participation and growth
