Job Description

Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a lasting difference in the educational journey of students with hearing challenges as an itinerant Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract opportunity offers the chance to provide specialized support across a districtwide caseload, working primarily in a consultative capacity with early childhood through transition-age students. You'll collaborate directly on-site with school staff and families throughout the Richmond area and broader district, designing and adapting educational plans to meet the diverse needs of your students.
Your Qualifications:
Valid Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teaching credential and CTC required Proven experience in supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing Strong background in consultative service delivery across various educational settings Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with educators, parents, and other service providers Ability to travel between school sites as an itinerant teacher within the district
Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative services to students with hearing differences across multiple schools Collaborate with IEP teams to develop, implement, and monitor individualized educational plans Support teachers, staff, and families with strategies and resources to foster accessible learning environments Conduct assessments and document student progress regularly Advocate for reasonable accommodations and inclusion practices districtwide
