In this role, you will design engaging art curricula, facilitate hands-on projects, and cultivate an inclusive classroom environment that nurtures individual expression. Duties Develop comprehensive art curricula aligned with educational standards and tailored to diverse learning needs, including special education considerations. Create and implement engaging lesson plans that incorporate various mediums such as painting, sculpture, drawing, and digital art. Utilize learning management systems (LMS) to organize lesson materials, track student progress, and communicate with students and parents effectively. Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with disabilities and support inclusive classroom environments that promote accessibility. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies, ensuring a positive learning atmosphere for all students. Assess student work regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing when applicable. Incorporate technology and learning tools to enhance artistic instruction and foster digital literacy in the arts. Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects, school events, and extracurricular activities related to arts education. Support literacy education by integrating writing skills into art projects where appropriate, encouraging reflection and critique. Provide tutoring or additional support to students needing extra help in art or related subjects such as math or language arts. Skills Strong knowledge of curriculum development tailored to arts education across multiple mediums. Proficiency with learning technology platforms (LMS) for lesson planning, grading, and communication purposes. Experience working with children with disabilities or in special education settings to ensure inclusive instruction. Deep understanding of childhood development principles relevant to teaching art at various age levels. Excellent classroom management skills to maintain a respectful and productive environment. Proven classroom experience in teaching art or related subjects within private or Montessori school settings preferred. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, and creative writing techniques. Effective communication skills for collaborating with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures related to arts assessments when applicable. Experience in tutoring students individually or in small groups to reinforce artistic skills or academic subjects. Familiarity with library services or resource integration for enriching arts instruction through external materials or exhibits. Behavior management expertise to foster positive student interactions and address behavioral challenges constructively.
