Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Help support students' growth and success as a Special Education Teacher on a full-time contract assignment starting as soon as possible. In this role, you'll work closely with school staff, students, and families to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), provide engaging instruction tailored to student needs, and foster an inclusive, positive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for students with varying educational needs. Deliver specially designed instruction in both individual and group settings. Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and support staff to ensure accommodations are effectively provided. Track student progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with state and federal regulations. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student achievement and goals. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, professional development, and school events.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching credential. Experience in a school-based setting, preferably as a Special Education Teacher. Strong knowledge of IEP processes and legal requirements. Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Flexibility and ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs. Passion for working with children and supporting diverse learners. Ability to start work as soon as possible.
