California Moderate/Severe or Early Childhood Education Specialist Credential Position Overview We are looking for a passionate Special Education Teacher to support students in Early Childhood and Elementary programs with diverse learning needs. In this role, you will provide individualized instruction, develop and implement IEPs, and create a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports each student's academic, social, and emotional growth. You will work with students with a variety of disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), hearing impairments, visual impairments, and other developmental disabilities, while collaborating closely with families and multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations. Deliver engaging, evidence-based instruction in literacy, math, communication, social skills, and functional life skills. Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student needs using appropriate accommodations, modifications, and assistive technology. Implement positive behavior support strategies and individualized behavior intervention plans. Support students with autism and other developmental disabilities using evidence-based instructional and behavioral practices. Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, parents, and school staff to ensure student success. Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, conduct assessments, and monitor IEP goals. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and educational planning. Utilize educational technology for lesson planning, instruction, data collection, and progress monitoring. Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive. Qualifications Valid California Moderate/Severe or Education Specialist Credential . Experience working with students with disabilities in Early Childhood or Elementary settings. Knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and compliance requirements. Experience supporting students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, hearing impairments, or visual impairments. Familiarity with positive behavior support strategies, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and classroom behavior management. Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills. Experience integrating educational technology and differentiated instruction into the classroom. Additional experience in early intervention, preschool, or childcare settings is a plus.
