Full-Time Position Description:
This is a full-time position as a lead classroom teacher, responsible for developing curriculum, planning and implementing lessons, creating a supportive and intellectually stimulating learning environment, and communicating with families as partners in helping students develop and fulfill their academic and personal potential. This position may be at the East Campus (3663 Wilshire Blvd) or the West Campus (11661 W. Olympic Blvd).
About Brawerman:
Brawerman Elementary Schools of Wilshire Boulevard Temple are Jewish day schools (Kindergarten to Grade 6) operating in two campuses: Brawerman East, in the historic Glazer Campus in Mid-Wilshire, and Brawerman West at the Irmas Campus in West Los Angeles. Brawerman Elementary Schools offer an outstanding academic program rooted in Jewish values that nurtures students' cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual lives. The Schools are tight-knit and nurturing communities, with high levels of collaboration among faculty and an active, supportive parent body. Graduates of both schools are sought after and accepted into the city's most prestigious independent secondary schools.
Responsibilities:
With input and guidance from current faculty and administrators, develop literacy, math, social studies, and other curricula Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction that provides purposeful, active, and engaging learning experiences Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons encouraging collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons with a focus on social-emotional learning Differentiate instruction as necessary to meet the needs of all students Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs Maintain an organized, welcoming classroom environment conducive to student learning Use technology to support instruction Use appropriate classroom management strategies so that expectations are clear and students feel comfortable and able to learn Collaborate with other faculty on schoolwide initiatives, including Jewish Learning curriculum, programming, and events Show professionalism Grow and develop professionally
Qualifications:
A minimum of three years experience as a lead teacher (when starting position) A minimum of a college bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred United States teaching credential; a California credential is preferred Relevant teaching experience from independent, public, private, or charter schools Knowledge of relevant technology, including AI integration Flexible thinker Team player Professionalism Excellent verbal and written communication skills Desirable (not required)
Qualifications:
Experience using Writer's Workshop, phonics instruction (Fundations), Acadience/DIBELS assessment, Math in Focus, Zones of Regulation, and/or Responsive Classroom Background in Special Education and/or
Gifted and Talented Instruction Compensation:
$66,150 to $85,000 based on experience and qualifications Salary is based on employment from mid-August to mid-June, paid over twelve months Lunch is provided to faculty on school days Competitive benefits package Robust professional development opportunities How to
