Special Education Teacher Job Description We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and student-focused Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality instruction and support to students with diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs. The ideal candidate is committed to creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom while collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams to help every student achieve success. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with each student's IEP goals and learning needs. Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth. Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in IEP meetings and progress reporting. Collaborate with educational support staff, therapists, administrators, and families to ensure student success. Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and positive behavior supports to maximize student engagement and achievement. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential (or ability to obtain one). Experience working with students with disabilities in a classroom setting preferred. Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
