Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Long Beach, CA Soliant - 3.9 Long Beach, CA Job Details Contract $35.25 - $58.25 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications School experience Teaching Certification Sensory impairments support Full Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Deliver exceptional support and guidance to students with visual impairments in a dynamic school environment. This contract opportunity near Long Beach, CA, is ideal for professionals passionate about making a difference in K-12 education. We are searching for individuals experienced as Teachers for the Visually Impaired, with the potential need for a candidate dually credentialed as both a VI Teacher and Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialist. The ability to transcribe materials into braille is also highly desirable.
Key Qualifications:
Valid teaching credentials in Visual Impairment required Certification or extensive experience as an O&M Specialist is a strong plus Proficiency in braille and/or experience as a braille transcriber Previous experience supporting students with visual impairments in schools Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities Commitment to fostering independence and success among visually impaired students
