Job Description

Overview Join our dedicated educational team as a Special Education Teacher, where your passion for fostering growth and development in children with diverse learning needs will make a meaningful impact. In this role, you will design and implement tailored instructional strategies that support students with disabilities, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, and speech or behavioral challenges. Your energetic approach will inspire confidence and curiosity in your students, helping them reach their full potential in a nurturing environment. You will collaborate closely with families, therapists, and school staff to create inclusive learning experiences that promote literacy, social skills, and independence. Responsibilities Develop and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) that align with each student's unique needs and goals Manage classroom environments effectively to foster positive behavior and engagement through proactive behavior management techniques Deliver specialized instruction across core subjects such as literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning using evidence-based methods like Montessori or other curricula Incorporate learning technology and adaptive tools to enhance student participation and understanding Provide speech therapy support or coordinate with speech-language pathologists to address communication challenges Implement early intervention strategies for toddlers and preschoolers to promote childhood development milestones Assess student progress regularly through standardized testing and formative assessments, adjusting lesson plans accordingly Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive support plans for students with disabilities Facilitate inclusive activities that promote social interaction, behavioral health, and child welfare within the classroom setting Engage in ongoing professional development related to classroom management, behavioral therapy techniques, deaf education, working with children on the autism spectrum, and other specialized areas Experience Prior classroom experience working with children of various ages in early childhood education or preschool settings is highly desirable Demonstrated success in managing diverse classrooms with effective behavior management skills Experience developing curriculum tailored to students with special needs, including those requiring speech therapy or behavioral health interventions Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring processes Knowledge of working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities such as hearing impairments or autism spectrum disorder Hands-on experience utilizing learning technology tools and adaptive educational resources Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, therapists, and school staff Certification or licensure in special education or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; ongoing professional growth is encouraged Embark on a rewarding journey where your dedication transforms lives!
