General Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Principal, an Oakridge teacher is responsible for the preparation, instruction, and evaluation of grade-level curriculum. Preparation includes curriculum mapping, lesson planning, and the development of meaningful assessments. Instruction involves presenting subject matter through engaging and differentiated teaching strategies that support a variety of learning styles and academic needs. Evaluation includes the ongoing assessment of student progress through a variety of formal and informal methods.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
The Oakridge teacher will be responsible for the daily student learning of: Grade level Curriculum and Assessment. Keep an accurate and organized record of student performance in a grade book and prepare progress reports/report cards for parent review. Communicate effectively and diplomatically with parents, students, and staff. Attend staff meetings. Any other duties as assigned. The teacher shall work well under pressure; meeting multiple deadlines. The teacher shall at all times demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors. Physically this position requires walking and standing for prolonged periods, and lifting of up to 50 lbs. School Sponsored activities are mandatory, and on campus sponsored activities are mandatory; PTO may not be used .
Knowledge/Skills required for the position:
A Bachelor's Degree in Education or subject that proves competency in the subject matter being taught, and recommended valid California State Teaching Credential.
