Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Exciting opportunity available for a full-time Teacher for the Visually Impaired to support students through itinerant and consultative services. Located near Oxnard, CA, this contract position offers meaningful work in a supportive school environment. Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid credential/certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired Experience providing services in K-12 educational settings Proficiency with braille instruction and assistive technology for visual impairments Strong consultation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers and staff Excellent communication, adaptability, and organization Passion for promoting independence and access for visually impaired students
Responsibilities:
Deliver mainly consultative support to students, families, and educational teams Provide targeted braille instruction to students as needed Assess students' visual needs, develop and implement individualized instructional strategies Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to adapt materials and learning environments Offer professional development and resources to staff on best practices for working with visually impaired learners Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and contribute to IEP meetings Serve as an advocate for accessibility and inclusion within the school community
