9651899-93030 Job Description Seeking a dedicated professional with expertise in working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, as well as proficiency as a Braillist, to make a meaningful impact in an educational setting. This full-time position offers you the chance to support students at a single campus, fostering continuity and strong relationships. Enjoy a structured daytime schedule of 6-7 hours per day, giving you time to focus on your passions both in and outside of work.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Certification or proven experience as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist Strong skills in Braille transcription, reading, and instructional support Experience collaborating with educators to implement effective learning strategies for students with sensory impairments Ability to individualize support and materials to meet diverse student needs Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Understanding of IEP processes, accommodations, and assistive technologies is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized educational support to students who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or blind/visually impaired Develop, adapt, and transcribe curriculum materials into accessible formats such as Braille or visual supports Work closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to promote student success and inclusion Facilitate the use of assistive technology and devices as needed Support IEP implementation and documentation Foster an encouraging, accessible, and respectful classroom environment Maintain accurate records and ongoing progress notes
