Job Overview:

Make a meaningful impact every day! The Cypress School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher to empower students ages 5-22 with developmental disabilities, autism, and mental health challenges. Through individualized instruction in functional academics, communication, independent living, sensory regulation, recreation/leisure, and pre-vocational skills, you'll help students build confidence, independence, and lifelong success while collaborating with a supportive team of educators, specialists, families, and school districts.

Key Responsibilities:

Individualized Small Group Instruction:

Provide tailored instruction to students in small group settings, ensuring that teaching strategies and materials meet their individual learning needs and abilities.

IEP Implementation:

Develop, implement, and monitor student goals outlined in the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) while working closely with the team to track progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed. Collaboration with

Multidisciplinary Team:

Work closely with the mobility specialist, therapist, and other staff members to deliver a coordinated approach to education that supports students' physical and educational development.

Supervision and Guidance:

Oversee and guide classroom assistants, ensuring they are equipped to provide effective support to students in alignment with educational goals. Positive Relationships with

Students and Families:

Build strong, positive relationships with students, providing a nurturing and supportive environment, and maintain open communication with families to ensure their involvement in the educational process.

Creative Contributions:

Bring innovative ideas and approaches to the classroom, supporting an atmosphere of creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Special Education cleared credential preferred. Experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly those with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Knowledge of educational practices, behavior intervention strategies, and child development principles. Valid California Driver's license with a clear driving record Cleared fingerprint/background test required Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test required Negative TB test and medical examination required First Aid certified or willing to become certified required
