Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic educational team as a Special Education Teacher (K-12), where you will inspire and empower students across all grade levels to reach their full potential. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse learners, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, visual impairments, and other special needs. You will develop tailored curricula, implement innovative teaching strategies, and collaborate closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to foster inclusive learning environments. Duties Design and deliver engaging, individualized lesson plans aligned with students' IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and state standards. Implement evidence-based instructional techniques such as applied behavior analysis, behavioral therapy, speech therapy, music therapy, and recreational therapy to support diverse learning needs. Adapt curriculum content for students with disabilities, including those who are deaf or visually impaired, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity. Conduct assessments using standardized testing and formative evaluations to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, and families to develop comprehensive support plans. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, IEP goals, behavioral reports, and communication logs to ensure compliance and transparency. Participate in ongoing professional development related to early childhood education, literacy education, math instruction, instructional design, and classroom management best practices. Support early intervention programs and provide mentorship for new educators or paraprofessionals working with children with disabilities. Foster a safe, nurturing environment that promotes social-emotional growth, child welfare, and academic achievement for all students. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Valid teaching certification/license for special education at the K-12 level in accordance with state requirements. Proven classroom experience working with children across various grade levels in special education settings. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in inclusive education. Experience with curriculum development tailored for learners with autism, developmental disabilities, hearing impairments, or visual impairments. Proficiency in learning technology tools used for instructional design, tutoring, assessment analysis, and communication skills enhancement. Familiarity with IEP processes, behavioral health strategies, behavioral management techniques, and evidence-based therapies such as applied behavior analysis (ABA). Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with students' families and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs while maintaining classroom discipline and engagement. Passion for working with children of diverse backgrounds; commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that supports child welfare. $66,513.72 - $135,581.76 per year
