Pay Rate:
$60•70 per hour Position Summary The Education Specialist•Moderate/Severe contracted through Amergis provides specialized academic instruction, functional skills development, and behavioral support to students with Extensive Support Needs (ESN) within Santee School District. The educator ensures access to curriculum, meaningful inclusion, and measurable progress on IEP goals in alignment with IDEA , California Education Code , and district expectations. Key Responsibilities Specialized Instruction — Deliver standards-aligned academic, functional, and life-skills instruction using evidence-based practices, AAC, visual supports, and assistive technology. IEP Case Management — Lead IEP development, conduct assessments, write measurable goals, and monitor progress. Behavior Support — Implement PBIS, individualized BIPs, and crisis-prevention strategies to maintain a safe, structured learning environment. Collaboration — Partner with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support inclusion and coordinated services. Classroom Management — Maintain a predictable, supportive environment that promotes engagement, communication, and independence. Minimum Qualifications Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential•Moderate/Severe or Extensive Support Needs authorization. Experience supporting students with significant cognitive, behavioral, communication, or medical needs. Ability to implement AAC, assistive technology, and functional skills instruction.
