This is not a traditional classroom teaching position. Instead, you'll provide individual and small group academic instruction within our clinic while collaborating and receiving support from with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and behavior technicians. Our Academic Learning Specialists ensure students have meaningful access to a tailored curriculum while our ABA team provides behavioral support that maximizes engagement, attention, communication, and readiness to learn. Together, our team helps students acquire academic skills in a therapeutic environment. This position is ideal for an educator who believes that behavioral and education professionals can achieve better outcomes by working together. Duties Deliver individualized educational instruction for preschool, Transitional Kindergarten (TK), Kindergarten, and elementary-aged students. Create engaging lessons that build both confidence and academic achievement. Evaluate and assess current academic levels. Provide guidance to families navigating school district IEPs. Providing advocacy when applicable. Provide push-in, one-on-one instruction while the ABA team supports behavior, communication, attention, and learning readiness. Collaborate regularly with BCBAs and Registered Behavior Technicians to develop strategies that promote student success. Individualize instruction based on each learner's strengths, interests, and academic goals. Help families navigate curriculum selection and homeschool planning. Requirements Hold a valid California teaching credential Three or more years of classroom experience teaching in Special Day Class. Believes every child deserves individualized instruction. Enjoys thinking creatively and adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Values collaboration and is excited to work alongside behavior analysts and behavioral staff. Is flexible, compassionate, organized, and an excellent communicator. Preferred Prior experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Training or experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
