Employment Type Full Time, Part Time Job Summary Job Summary Provide directed learning experiences through the implementation of lesson plans and behavioral programming which assists students ages birth to twenty-two in the acquisition of social, independent living, communication, and learning skills. Attend to the academic, physical, emotional and behavioral needs of students. Provide prompts, discriminative stimuli, consequences, pace tasks. Maintain suitable learning environments, prepare materials, and collect data. Driving a vehicle, travel to various sites within SLO County as assigned. Requirements /
Qualifications Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • An AA degree (or equivalent) or passage of proficiency examination in compliance with Education Code and No Child Left Behind Act.
  • One-year experience working with students who have special needs or are at-promise in a classroom or similar learning environment.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (provided by SLOCOE) must be obtained within 130 days of employment.
Per state law, all applicants must have 48 semester units, OR an AA degree OR pass the CBEST test OR show proof of
NCLB/ESSA
compliance OR take a Paraprofessional Proficiency exam. The exam is administered by appointment at the SLOCOE Main Office (across from Cuesta College on Highway One). Please call (805) 782-7235 to schedule an appointment. Letter(s) of Recommendation Other (Proof of Paraprofessional Proficency) Resume Requirements /
