San Mateo, CA Job Details Full-time $28.00 - $31.50 an hour 19 hours ago Qualifications Bachelor's degree Full Job Description Behavior Support Technician Position Overview The Behavior Support Technician serves as a bridge between direct service and clinical leadership. This role provides coaching and mentorship to Behavior Technicians, writes and maintains Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), reviews and analyzes behavior data, and collaborates with Clinical Supervisor to ensure effective intervention strategies. Acting as both a coach and data expert, the Behavior Support Technician helps drive excellence in service delivery. Key Responsibilities Mentor and support Behavior Support Technicians in implementing BIPs and proactive strategies. Draft and update BIPs under BCBA supervision. Review and analyze behavior data, identify trends, and recommend adjustments. Conduct small group or 1:1 coaching on behavior protocols and data collection. Collaborate with Behavior Technicians, Clinical Supervisors, and BCBA's for plan fidelity. Support family collaboration by preparing materials and training guidance. Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, BIP updates, and coaching activities. Welcome new hires into the clinical environment, ensuring they feel supported during their transition. Assist with training and development of newly hired Behavior Technicians by demonstrating best-practice implementation, modeling proactive strategies, and reinforcing clinical expectations. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or higher (required) 2+ years of experience supporting individuals with autism or related needs. Strong ABA knowledge, data analysis, and behavior plan implementation. Strong writing and documentation skills. CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain). Reliable transportation and on-site availability. Skills & Competencies Coaching and mentorship mindset. Analytical and data-driven problem solver. Collaborative team player with strong communication skills. Strong ability to support new staff through onboarding, skill-building, and early competency development.
