Key Qualifications:
Expertise as a Visually Impaired Teacher, Braillist, Paraprofessional, or comparable SLI. Fluency in Braille, with the ability to teach and support student learning. Previous experience supporting students with low cognition is a plus. Patience, compassion, and creative instructional strategies.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct 1:1 Braille instruction to a high school male student (30 hours/week). Develop accessible educational content, adapting lessons for Braille users. Track and report on student progress toward literacy and independence. Collaborate closely with school staff and families to support student needs. Maintain a positive, encouraging environment.
