Job Description

Category Schools - Visually Impaired Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a full-time, contract position. This opportunity offers the chance to make a significant impact while working with diverse learners across several educational sites on an itinerant basis. You'll spend 6 hours each day providing mainly consultative services and some direct Braille instruction, helping students access their curriculum and thrive in their academic environments.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid certification or credential as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired Experience serving students with visual impairments in school settings Comfortable traveling between sites and adapting services to multiple school environments Proficiency in assistive technologies and Braille instruction Strong communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, staff, and families Creative, patient, and adaptable with a student-centered focus Responsibilities include: Delivering consultative services to staff and students, supporting access to education Providing Braille instruction as needed to help students gain literacy skills Developing and implementing individualized instructional strategies Contributing to IEP meetings and documentation Liaising with general and special education teams to promote best practices Monitoring student progress and adjusting approaches accordingly Offering guidance and resources to families and educational staff This contract position gives you the flexibility to collaborate across various campuses, meaning each workday brings new interactions and chances to make a difference.
