Teaching Full Job Description Kids Teacher/Helper Position Description Pay Rate and Hours :

$105 per week for 3.5 hrs to start

Schedule :

Sundays 9:30AM-12PM + 1 hour prep during the week Church at the Park We are a new (April 2026), non-denominational church in Walnut Creek. We meet outside at Civic Park when the weather is nice and inside the Library when it's not. Our mission is to reach people where they're already present (the park), and help everyone who joins us know and follow Jesus.

Job Description Teaching:

As Kids Teacher for 3-11 year olds, you will be their consistent, week-to-week teacher/helper connection who partners with rotating volunteers to lead/teach a 45-minute kids lesson with activities. We currently have 10 kids in this age bracket, with 3-7 attending each Sunday.

Volunteer Rotation:

You will oversee the scheduling of volunteers, to assist you on Sundays, 1 volunteer per week. Many volunteers will support you in the helper role, but some volunteers like to teach. On those Sundays, you would move to the helper role (sending the volunteer teacher lessons, materials, and assisting them as needed for the lesson). As the program develops, there will be opportunities for this position to grow. Job Requirements Background Check. You arrive on time and are able to work Sundays (at least 48 out of 52 per year). Your consistency is essential, so if you expect to be out for more than 4 Sundays per year, this position is not a good fit. You are a Christian with a personal, growing, relationship with Christ. You love working with kids 3-11 years old. You are reliable, consistent, and work well with others. You desire to help kids connect with Jesus, and his word, in a fun, relatable, and meaningful way. You are able to direct volunteer teachers and helpers. You believe in the gospel, the reliability of God's word, and agree with our Basic Beliefs. Weekly Schedule and Tasks Sundays 9:30-10:30AM Set up the kids tent, tables, and prep for the morning 10:30-11AM Participate in our worship service. Kids stay with their parents for this part of the service. 11AM When announced that the kids can go for their lesson, welcome them and begin to teach the lesson. 11:45AM The service finishes, and parents will pick up their kids, or you can lead them back over to them. 11:45AM-12PM Clean up Monday-Saturday Review the lesson (curriculum will be provided) and the materials needed for the activities.
