Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in the Denver metro area for the 2026/2027 academic year. This contract position offers a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, working onsite in a newly added classroom setting. You'll be part of an inclusive learning environment, making a genuine difference for students with unique learning needs.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (required) Active Colorado Department of Education Certificate with the proper endorsements for your area of expertise: Early Childhood Special Ed (for grades P3-2) Special Education Generalist or Educationally Handicapped for Affective Needs and Autism Additional qualifying endorsements (e.g., Trainable Child, Severe Needs, Physically Handicapped, Moderate Needs, Cognitive, Communication) Prior experience working with autism populations in a school district Willingness to complete background check and fingerprinting as required
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized instruction and support tailored to students' IEPs within a new classroom setting Collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families to foster student success Assess student progress and adjust interventions to meet evolving needs Maintain comprehensive documentation and uphold compliance with district and state special education guidelines Engage in professional development and actively participate in staff meetings and team activities This role offers the opportunity to shape the direction of a new classroom, helping students achieve their personal and academic goals.
