Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting middle school students with significant support needs. This contract position begins immediately, extending through the end of the school year. You'll make a meaningful impact on learners in a supportive environment tailored for growth and success. Your role will focus on a small caseload of 6th8th grade students, fostering their development and advocating for inclusive, individualized education. The work schedule follows a steady weekday pattern, with full-time hours distributed over a unique Mon/Thu/Fri and Wednesday timetable to accommodate both student and educator needs.
Qualifications:
Valid licensure as a Special Education Teacher (documentation required upon application) Experience working with students requiring significant supports preferred Strong collaboration and communication skills to partner with colleagues, families, and support staff Empathy, patience, and dedication to the progress of every student Flexibility in adapting to student and classroom needs
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver differentiated instruction to a caseload of five students, ensuring goals in Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) are met Develop and implement customized learning and behavior management strategies Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including paraprofessionals and related service providers Maintain up-to-date records on student progress and compliance with special education regulations Foster an inclusive, positive classroom culture where every learner feels valued
