Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a dynamic educational setting near Brighton, CO. This contract opportunity is tailored for professionals committed to fostering communication, learning, and belonging in the classroom.
Key qualifications and desired experience:
Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students. Proven experience as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, preferably in a school environment. Strong knowledge of assistive technology, American Sign Language (ASL), and differentiated instructional strategies. Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and related service providers. Excellent communication, organization, and adaptability skills.
Primary responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction and adapt curriculum for students with varying levels of hearing abilities. Provide ongoing assessment, progress monitoring, and documentation for each student's Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Implement strategies and accommodations to support language development, accessibility, and full participation in the school community. Serve as a resource to staff and families, offering insights and training on best practices for supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners. Create a safe, respectful, and enriched classroom environment that celebrates diversity and student achievement.
