The classroom environment is designed for personalized instruction and extensive student support, serving six students in grades 1st through 6th with disabilities such as Down syndrome and non-verbal autism. Many students in this class rely on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices, and spend the majority of the day in the resource room setting. Collaboration is essential - paraprofessionals assist with classroom routines and self-care, while a team of service providers (OT, SLP, SSW) deliver related services through both push-in and pull-out models. Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field Valid Special Education Teacher certification Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities, including non-verbal learners who use AAC devices Strong understanding of adaptive curriculum, differentiated instruction, and classroom management in a special needs setting Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with paraprofessionals and service providers
