Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher serving high school students in a rewarding contract position based in the greater Longmont area. This full-time opportunity runs from August 2026 through May 2027, working exclusively onsite with a caseload of 9th-12th graders. The primary focus is on providing dedicated support in Math and expert case management, helping students thrive academically and personally. Ideal candidates are passionate about fostering inclusive learning environments and skilled in modifying instruction to meet a range of special education needs.

Qualifications:

Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching certificate in Special Education (required) Proven experience with high school students in Special Education settings Strong background in Math instruction and case management Thorough understanding of IEP development and compliance Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families

Responsibilities:

Deliver targeted Math instruction and implement accommodations for students on your caseload Manage the full case cycle for assigned students, including IEP creation, progress monitoring, and parent-teacher conferences Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and administrators to ensure student success Maintain records and documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal requirements Encourage student self-advocacy and independence within the school environment Enjoy the stability of a school-year contract and the fulfillment of making a real difference for students who need it most.
