Affective Needs Classroom Location:
Northglenn, CO and Thornton, CO Shift:
Day (5x8 Hours) 8:00am to 4:30pm
Contract:
43 weeks ( 26-27 school year)
Pay:
$50/hr to $55/hr Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in an Affective Needs (Serious Emotional Disabilities) classroom. This opportunity is ideal for educators who are passionate about creating a structured, supportive learning environment and helping students achieve academic and behavioral success. Responsibilities Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with students' IEPs. Provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students with affective needs. Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment. Collaborate with paraprofessionals, school staff, administrators, and families to support student success. Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation. Utilize evidence-based behavior management and instructional strategies. Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration. Requirements Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Teacher License Experience working with students with Serious Emotional Disabilities (Affective Needs) preferred. Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills. Ability to work collaboratively with paraprofessionals and multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
Assignment Details Position Type:
Travel/Contract Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 5×8
Day Shifts Shift Hours:
Approximately 7:05 AM-3:05 PM or 8:00 AM-4:30 PM , depending on school assignment.
Student Population:
Primarily students in Grades 3-5 , with some assignments serving middle school students.
Caseload:
Approximately 7-10 students .
Classroom Type:
Affective Needs (Serious Emotional Disabilities).
Support:
Paraprofessionals assigned to assist in the classroom. Opportunities include both short-term leave coverage and full school-year assignments . Why Apply?
