Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of elementary students with significant support needs as a contracted Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time opportunity allows you to deliver tailored instruction, foster independence, and make meaningful progress with students experiencing moderate to severe disabilities. You'll collaborate closely with a committed support team and create an inclusive learning environment that truly makes a difference.
Key Qualifications:
Active Colorado Special Education License, or eligibility through reciprocity Experience supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities strongly preferred Proficiency in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Demonstrated skill with behavior intervention strategies and individualized support methods Excellent classroom management abilities Prior experience overseeing paraprofessional staff is a plus Strong collaboration skills, working effectively with families, therapists, administrators, and support staff
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the strengths and needs of each student Develop and maintain compliant IEPs aligned with student goals Implement evidence-based behavioral interventions and individualized supports Monitor, assess, and document student progress to ensure ongoing growth Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP planning Provide guidance and supervision for paraprofessionals supporting students Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to district, state, and federal requirements Make an impact in a dynamic educational setting, working onsite alongside passionate professionals committed to student growth and success.
