Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting elementary students as a Contract Special Education Teacher in a collaborative K-5 environment. This opportunity offers the chance to make a true impact, working closely with a manageable caseload of 12 students in a resourceful and supportive team setting. As the CSD Teacher, you'll play a vital part in helping young learners succeed academically and socially. What makes you a great fit: Valid Special Education teaching certification (preferred for Colorado or eligibility) Experience working in an elementary school setting Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance Effective communication skills when collaborating with families, general education teachers, and support staff Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere Knowledge of evidence-based strategies for varying ability levels Your key responsibilities will include: Managing a caseload of 12 elementary students, providing specialized instruction in alignment with their IEPs Developing lesson plans that accommodate individual academic and behavioral goals Assessing and documenting student progress, making data-driven instructional adjustments Collaborating regularly with parents and interdisciplinary teams to support student development Engaging in school-wide initiatives and maintaining up-to-date special education records Participating in staff meetings during school hours (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM) This contract role gives you the platform to create positive change and help shape the educational journey of each student in your care.
