Exciting opportunities are available for Special Education Teachers passionate about making a meaningful difference in students lives. We currently have two full-time contract roles for the 20262027 school year at a dynamic middle school near Bridgeport, Connecticut. These positions offer a chance to work collaboratively in a supportive educational environment focused on student growth and success.
Qualifications:
Valid Connecticut Special Education certification, or eligibility for certification. Experience or strong interest in working with middle school students.
For one role:
background in reading intervention programs such as SPIRE, WILSON, or Orton-Gillingham preferred. Strong organizational skills and a commitment to fostering academic achievement. Effective communication and collaboration abilities for working with students, parents, and fellow educators.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs.
For English Language Arts/Reading/Math role:
deliver specialized instruction in 6th grade ELA and Math, with a focus on targeted reading and math strategies.
For Academic Assistance role:
support students in grades 68 by guiding executive functioning skills and providing resource support across core subjects. Work closely with teaching colleagues to monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches. Maintain thorough documentation of student performance, IEP compliance, and communications.
