Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract position as a Paraeducator in the greater Danbury, CT area, where your support makes a difference every day. In this role, you'll be a valued contributor, working both 1:1 and in the classroom alongside lead teachers and supervisors. You'll assist with the supervision and instruction of special education students in alignment with their PPT and IEP goals, ensuring a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Work 1:1 with students and collaboratively in classroom settings Assist teachers in supervising and instructing special education students Support educational objectives tailored to individualized education plans (IEPs) Implement strategies to encourage student engagement and learning Provide assistance with toileting and personal care as needed Maintain a respectful, safe, and encouraging classroom atmosphere Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Required Qualifications:
Previous school-based behavioral/special education experience or directly related background Compassion, patience, and understanding for students' unique learning needs Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and support staff Strong communication and organizational skills Commitment to working full-time, 8:30am-3:30pm
