Send job Job Details Job DescriptionJob Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time special education teaching position is available for a middle school setting within a specialized AIM program serving behavioral students. This contract role begins ASAP and extends through the end of the academic year. The schedule aligns with typical middle school hours, 7:25 AM to 2:40 PM, focusing on providing targeted support both through push-in and pull-out instructional strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction tailored to behavioral students within a middle school AIM program. Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet the diverse needs of students. Collaborate with general education teachers to facilitate push-in support. Conduct pull-out sessions for focused, small group or one-on-one instruction. Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records in compliance with state regulations. Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with families and school staff.
Qualifications:
Valid Connecticut Special Education teaching license (CT SPED). Experience working with middle school-age students, particularly those with behavioral challenges. Strong knowledge of special education laws, best practices, and behavioral intervention strategies. Ability to manage a caseload within a specialized AIM program. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
