Ideal applicants will demonstrate flexibility and confidence working with diverse age groups within special education. You'll work onsite during the 2026-2027 academic year, providing instruction and individualized support to learners with a variety of needs.
Key Qualifications:
Active Connecticut Educator Certification with Special Education (SPED) endorsement Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting Ability to manage and instruct in a self-contained classroom environment Willingness to work with students from various grade levels Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Full-time availability according to the school district calendar
Your Responsibilities:
Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to each student's needs and IEP goals Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families for holistic student support Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to IEPs, assessments, and student progress Establish a positive, structured, and supportive classroom setting for all learners Adapt teaching methods to meet a range of learning styles and abilities Participate in relevant professional development opportunities as required This assignment is full-time, requiring 30-32.5 hours per week from August 24, 2026, to May 21, 2027 (dates subject to change). The contract is for onsite instruction throughout the school year. You'll be making a real difference in students' lives, working with a supportive school staff in an engaging educational atmosphere.
