Guide and inspire a small group of approximately eight students within a self-contained classroom, focusing on all core academic subjects. Your expertise will play an essential role in shaping every aspect of each student's learning experience. As a key member of the special education team, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), ensuring students receive the support they need to thrive. Responsibilities also include attending and presenting at IEP meetings, conducting student assessments, and ongoing goal tracking. District office staff handle case management so you can devote your attention to direct instruction and student development.

Qualifications and Experience:

Valid Connecticut Special Education Endorsement required Experience writing and implementing IEPs with proven proficiency Minimum two years of recent teaching experience in special education Strong communication and collaboration skills Genuine commitment to meeting the diverse needs of elementary-aged learners
