Per Diem Subsitute Teachers Wanted, PK through 12 Private School Bi-Cultural Hebrew Academy Stamford, CT Job Details Per diem 1 day ago Qualifications Instructional adaptability Full Job Description Position Summary We are seeking dependable, enthusiastic, and flexible substitute teachers to join our PK - 12 school community on an as needed basis. Substitute teachers provide classroom coverage when a faculty member is absent and are responsible for maintaining a positive, safe, and productive learning environment. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children and adolescents and can adapt comfortably to different grade levels, subjects, and classroom settings. Responsibilities Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the classroom teacher. Provide engaging and appropriate instruction and activities for students. Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment. Supervise students and ensure school policies and procedures are followed. Take attendance and communicate any significant classroom or student concerns to the appropriate faculty or administrator. Manage classroom routines, transitions, and student behavior appropriately Assist students with assignments and classroom activities. Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters. Support the school community and uphold the school's values and expectations. Be prepared to substitute across a range of grade levels, from Pre-K through Grade 12, depending on the day's needs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience working with children or adolescents will be considered. Previous teaching, tutoring, childcare, coaching, or classroom experience preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and abilities. Ability to follow lesson plans while exercising sound judgment and flexibility. Dependable, punctual, professional, and enthusiastic. Must be comfortable working in a dynamic school environment and adapting to different classrooms and grade levels. Successful completion of required background checks and school employment requirements. Schedule This is an as-needed substitute position. Substitute teachers may be contacted based on daily staffing needs and may accept assignments according to their availability. Assignments may range from a single day to multiple consecutive days.
