Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Key Qualifications:
Active DC Special Education Teacher license (SPED) Previous experience in elementary special education preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom climate Knowledge of current best practices in special education
Role Responsibilities:
Develop and implement tailored instructional plans for students with special needs Adapt lessons to meet diverse learning styles within the elementary age group Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and IEP compliance Communicate regularly with families, teachers, and staff to ensure student success Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team-driven educational decisions Uphold school and district-wide expectations for ethical and effective instructional practices
