For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an In-Home Teacher for our 12 year old daughter, who is a rising 7th grader. This a one-on-one position that may be supervision while she attends FVLS, or a curriculum that you teach in person, or a hybrid of both. We are looking for someone who is firm and can maintain boundaries with our child. She is not able to attend school in person at this time. Duties Deliver customized lessons in subjects such as English language arts, mathematics, science, and test preparation (including SAT) based on individual student needs and curriculum standards Develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate diverse learning styles and adapt instructional strategies accordingly. The less online schooling the better! Utilize learning technology tools to enhance online instruction and facilitate interactive learning experiences Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching approaches as necessary Foster a supportive environment that encourages student participation, confidence, and curiosity Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a productive learning atmosphere during in-home sessions Collaborate with parents, guardians, or caregivers to communicate student progress and address any concerns or special education requirements Requirements Ability to work with students from various cultural backgrounds and with different learning styles Excellent communication skills for engaging students, parents, and caregivers effectively Familiarity with learning technology platforms used for online instruction and lesson planning tools Ability to manage classroom dynamics in a one-on-one setting with patience and professionalism Background in special education or working with students requiring additional support is a plus Valid teaching certification or relevant educational credentials preferred but not required
Pay:
$35.00 - $40.00 per hour
