This dynamic role involves delivering engaging lessons in biology, chemistry, and environmental science, while integrating innovative learning technologies and instructional strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in scientific research, laboratory experience, and curriculum development, with a commitment to nurturing student growth and academic excellence in a vibrant educational environment. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with middle school science standards, incorporating inquiry-based learning and hands-on experiments Deliver engaging lectures and facilitate classroom discussions to enhance understanding of topics such as cell biology, genetics, microbiology, biochemistry, and organic chemistry Design and oversee laboratory activities, including dissections and microbiology experiments, ensuring safety protocols are followed Assess student progress through quizzes, standardized tests, projects, and presentations; provide constructive feedback to support learning goals Integrate learning technology tools to create interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles Manage classroom behavior effectively to foster a positive learning environment conducive to active participation Mentor students individually or in groups, providing academic advising and supporting their scientific research interests Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and school-wide initiatives to enhance science education programs Requirements Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Education or related field; advanced degrees or higher education teaching experience preferred Proven classroom management skills with experience working with middle school students in diverse settings Strong knowledge of scientific disciplines including cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, microbiology, organic chemistry, trigonometry, algebra, geometry, calculus, differential equations, discrete math and related areas Laboratory experience with dissection techniques and research laboratory procedures; familiarity with library services for research purposes Proficiency in using educational technology tools for instruction and assessment; experience with curriculum development and instructional design Excellent communication skills for effective teaching, mentoring, and collaboration with staff and parents Experience working within private school environments or specialized education settings such as Montessori or special education is advantageous Ability to prepare students for standardized testing through effective lesson planning and tutoring strategies Commitment to ongoing professional development in scientific research methods and educational best practices Join us in inspiring the next generation of scientists by creating an engaging classroom where curiosity thrives!
