Job Description

Lead Teacher, Special Education Fort Lauderdale, FL 33313 $24.26 - $29.22 an hour - Full-time $24.26 - $29.22 an hour - Full-time Overview We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and experienced Lead Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse learning needs in a private school setting. This role provides specialized instruction, leads student support planning, collaborates with teachers and families, and helps ensure students receive appropriate academic and behavioral support.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support for students with special needs Develop and implement individualized learning and accommodation plans Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed Collaborate with classroom teachers, aides, therapists, and families Support behavior intervention strategies and inclusive classroom practices Maintain accurate records and confidentiality Guide and mentor staff on best practices in special education
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education, ESE, or related field required Florida ESE certification preferred 3+ years of special education teaching experience preferred Strong knowledge of accommodations, behavior supports, and progress monitoring Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
Preferred:
Master's degree in Special Education or related field Experience in a private school setting
Compensation:
Salary based on experience and qualifications.
Pay:
$24.26 - $29.22 per hour
