POSITION OPEN STARTING SUMMER

Duties Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with Florida VPK standards, focusing on early literacy, math, language, and social skills. Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment that supports children's emotional and behavioral development. Use evidence-based instructional strategies, including phonological awareness, vocabulary development, and hands-on learning activities. Monitor and assess student progress; maintain accurate records and developmental portfolios. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and milestones. Maintain compliance with all Florida Department of Education and Department of Children & Families Skills Strong background in curriculum development tailored for preschool-aged children with an understanding of childhood development principles. Proven experience working with children in daycare or preschool settings; familiarity with classroom management techniques is essential. Knowledge of special education practices and early intervention strategies to support diverse learners. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with parents, colleagues, and community resources. Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical activities, and social-emotional learning. Minimum Qualifications (State Requirements): Candidates must meet Florida VPK Instructor Credential requirements, including ONE of the following: Child Development Associate (CDA) or Florida Child Care Professional Certificate (FCCPC), OR Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, OR Associate's degree in another field with at least 6 credit hours in early childhood education + 480 hours of childcare experience, OR Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a valid Florida Educator Certificate.

Additional requirements:

Completion of required Emergent Literacy / Early Literacy training DCF 45-hour training (or willingness to complete) Current Level 2 background screening (FBI & FDLE) Affidavit of Good Moral Character CPR/First Aid certification (preferred or required prior to start)

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience teaching in a VPK or preschool classroom Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
