A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

Hourly pay $18/hour Monday - Friday (we follow the Duval County Public School Calendar) No Weekends/No Holidays 2:30 PM - 6:
PM ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidates must be able to resolve conflict with children, and possess the ability to be firm but friendly Provide constant guidance, redirection, and adhere to and enforce discipline policies of the school Maintain a positive & safe environment for students. Keep track of attendance records daily, incident reports, and referrals for discipline. Create activities to do during game time. Willing to work Part time Follow directions and abide by your schedule Maintain classroom management Strong organizational skills Ability to manage Mandatory schedules ( which will be provided) Ability to manage multiple tasks must be willing to work with all age groups. Engage with students Assists students with homework. Passes out snacks. Minimum Qualifications Possess a minimum of a high school diploma or higher Can pass fingerprints and background check. Experience with children (Day care assistant or Camp Counselor) preferred but not required
