A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description
Department Professional & Lifelong Learning, Financial Services-OPS Compensation Negotiable Provide instruction for courses offered through University of North Florida Professional and Lifelong Learning (PLL). Develop and deliver course content in accordance with established program objectives and instructional requirements. Facilitate learning activities and provide subject matter expertise to course participants. Maintain appropriate communication with program staff regarding course scheduling, delivery, and participant needs. Perform instructional duties in support of professional development, continuing education, and lifelong learning programs as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching or facilitating adult learning programs. Subject matter expertise relevant to the assigned course area.
