The Role:
Lead Teacher vs. Assistant Teacher We are hiring both Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers who are enthusiastic about working with children in a collaborative team setting.
Lead Teacher Responsibilities Curriculum Implementation:
Plan and implement the approved, proprietary Primrose lesson plans, adapting content for student customization and promoting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child.
Classroom Management:
Responsible for the overall supervision, safety, and daily functions of the classroom.
Assessment:
Assess each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis to inform planning.
Environment:
Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creation, exploration, and growth.
Assistant Teacher Responsibilities Support & Care:
Nurture and care for the children, assisting the Lead Teacher in all daily functions.
Direct Engagement:
Work individually and jointly with students to support learning activities.
Maintenance:
Assist with necessary classroom housekeeping and safety duties in common areas and playgrounds.
Essential Requirements & Qualifications Must-Haves:
A genuine love for children and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment. Ability to meet the basic requirements of all local and state child care regulatory agencies (health, safety, and care). Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs (required for the daily handling of children, including lifting infants in and out of cribs, and in emergency situations). Preferred Qualifications (Training is Provided!): Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program. Knowledge and interest in the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children. For Infant -
Preschool Teachers:
A 2-year degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred, but not required. We support further education. Each Primrose school is a privately owned and operated franchise.
