Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and innovative Robotics Teacher to inspire and educate students in the exciting field of robotics and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). In this role, you will design engaging curricula, foster hands-on learning experiences, and cultivate a love for science and technology among students. Your energetic approach will motivate learners to explore robotics concepts, develop critical thinking skills, and prepare for future careers in technology-driven industries. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive lesson plans that integrate robotics principles with core STEM subjects such as math, science, and engineering. Lead classroom activities that involve building, programming, and troubleshooting robotic systems using various learning technologies. Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and problem-solving among students of diverse backgrounds. Assess student progress through projects, presentations, standardized tests, and informal evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support growth. Mentor students on research projects, competitions, and extracurricular robotics clubs to enhance their practical skills and teamwork abilities. Collaborate with colleagues to design curriculum enhancements aligned with educational standards and emerging technological trends. Manage classroom behavior effectively while maintaining high energy levels to keep students engaged and motivated throughout lessons. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in classroom management, lesson planning, and instructional design within a school setting. Strong knowledge of robotics platforms (such as LEGO Mindstorms, VEX Robotics), programming languages (like Python or C++), and related STEM disciplines including trigonometry, geometry, algebra, calculus, discrete math, and differential equations. Familiarity with curriculum development for science or technology courses at the middle or high school level. Background in scientific research or laboratory experience related to biology (cell biology, microbiology), chemistry (organic chemistry), genetics or molecular biology is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with students of varying abilities including special education needs. Experience with learning technology tools such as virtual labs, online assessment platforms, and instructional software. Prior teaching experience is a plus; Florida Department of Education certification in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Robotics, Technology Education or Engineering and Technology is preferred. Passion for mentoring students in STEM fields through tutoring, research guidance, or participation in science fairs and competitions.
